ABOUT ABOUT

Join the Augustine community--families, alumni, faculty, and friends--and those interested in learning more about classical Christian education on February 6th at the Arts Center on the Hudson for an evening of discussion regarding discipleship and the work at Augustine.

Over dinner (beginning at 6:15PM sharp), we'll consider ideas related to developing appetites for that which is good, true, and beautiful and examine how Augustine partners with parents to do so.  Displays will showcase the work at Augustine and we'll hear from guest speaker, Mark Mitchell, Dean of Academics at Patrick Henry College.

Mark previously served as Chairman for the Government Department for many years prior to accepting his current role as the Dean of Academic Affairs at Patrick Henry College. He is the author of The Limits of Liberalism: Tradition, Individualism, and the Crisis of Freedom, The Politics of Gratitude: Scale, Place, and Community in a Global Age, and Michael Polanyi: The Art of Knowing. He is co-editor of Localism in the Mass Age: A Front Porch Republic Manifesto, The Humane Vision of Wendell Berry, and The Culture of Immodesty in American Life and Politics. He also is the co-founder of the web-zine Front Porch Republic. In 2008-2009, he was a fellow at the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University.

We hope you'll join us at The Table.
